Unboxing your new Pole bike

Congratulations, your bike has arrived!
You are most likely anxious and in a hurry to get your bike to the trails.

No worries, you are allowed to be stoked, you are about to assemble your new Pole Bike.

We at Pole have already assembled your bike once and we have tested that everything works properly.
After the test ride, we disassemble the bike and pack it for shipping.

We ship the bikes a little bit differently depending on your location.

If you have ordered your bike to be delivered into EU-country, we shall ship the complete bike in one large carton. But if you live outside EU we deliver you complete bike in two separate cartons. The heavier carton contains everything else except the wheelset. The wheelset has been shipped in their own carton. This is because of the transportation costs.

Frameset

If you have ordered a Pole frameset, you should receive these items:

  1. Frame
  2. In full suspension bike, the rear shock
  3. *Headset
  4. *Rear axle
  5. *Cable routing kit
  6. *Boost brothers kit – 142 and 148 options (where available)
  7. Seat Clamp
  8. *Certificate
  9. *Receipt
  10. *If you have ordered something additional, E.g. spare hanger or t-shirt, or Huck Norris

* Are packed in one separate carton

Avoid clamping the frame to a stand from a top tube. The clamps are designed for round objects such as seat post. The frames stand the high demands of riding but aren’t designed to withstand big clamping forces. When in doubt, treat the frame as if it was made of thin-walled material and act accordingly. Warranty does not cover frame deformation caused by improper clamping of the frame.

Frame package
1. Open the carton by using a box cutter. Do not use a too long blade to avoid damaging the goods.
2. Inside you should find the frame packed nicely in plastic and an additional carton.
3. Remove the additional carton and gently lift the frameset out from its carton.
4. Gently put down the frame and remove the plastic protection.
5. Use wire cutters to remove the zip ties. Unwrap the frame from the protective plastics.
6. After unwrapping the frame please check that there aren’t any damages to the frame and it looks good into your liking. After visually checking the frame, install the seat post and mount the frame to a stand from the seat tube. If using a repair stand for the assembly, always use thick cushioning between the clamp and the frame. Avoid excess tightening of the clamp!
7. Now check the additional carton which came with the frame
8. Take the receipt and certificate and put those into a safe place…which you remember later.
9. For the frameset, you should receive assembly parts.

  2. Fork – front brake installed
  3. Handlebar – with stem installed
  4. Seatpost and saddle
  5. A carton for small parts, certificate, and receipt

Carton B

  1. Wheelset with tires installed
Complete bike orders outside the European Union come in two separate packages.
1. Start by gently opening the lighter wheel carton with the box cutter. Do not use a too long blade to avoid harming the wheels.
2. Remove the wheelset from the carton, check the wheelset that there is no visible damage and set aside.
3. Again use a short blade with the box cutter and open the heavier frame carton.
4. At the top of the carton, you’ll find your fork. Pick it up and put aside.
5. Gently lift your frame from the carton.
6. Now there should be still one smaller carton. Pick that up and put aside.
7. Now gently unwrap the frame. Be careful, handlebar, rear calliper, and rear derailleur are loose, hanging by the cables.
8. Install the frame into a bike stand and unwrap the rest of the packing material. You need to use wire cutters for the zip ties. If using a repair stand for the assembly, always use thick cushioning between the clamp and the frame. Always mount the frame to bike stand from seat post when possible. Avoid excess tightening of the clamp! After unwrapping visually check the frame for damages.
9. Open the small carton and take the assembly parts and put aside waiting for assembly. There is also a receipt and a certificate, which you should keep in a safe place.

1.3.Complete bike (EU)

If you have ordered a complete Pole bike, and you live in EU, you should receive one large carton. However, sometimes this is now always possible, due to packing restrictions, bike frame size, and courier services. If you have received your complete bike order in two separate boxes, please follow the unpacking instructions here – Section 1.2

  1. Frameset with fork and dropper post installed, swingarm turned for transportation
  2. Handlebar removed from stem but brakes and shifters installed
  3. Assembled wheelset
  4. A carton for small parts, certificate, and receipt
Orders inside the European Union comes in one big package.
1. Gently open the carton with a box cutter. Do not use a too long blade to avoid harming the frame or the wheels.
2. Lift the wheels first and put aside.
3. Lift the smaller component carton and put aside
4. Now you can start to lift the frame. Notice that it’s a bit heavier because the fork and other components are attached.
5. Lift the frame gently to avoid damaging it. The handlebar is loose hanging by the cables.
6. Unwrap the frame from the protective plastics and install the frame into a bike stand. If using a repair stand for the assembly, always use thick cushioning between the clamp and the frame. Always mount frame to bike stand from seat post when possible. Avoid excess tightening of the clamp! You need cable cutters for cutting the zip ties. Unwrap rest of the protectives.
7. Open the small carton and take the assembly parts and put aside waiting for assembly. There is also receipt and a certificate, which you should keep in a safe place.
